The Computer Science department took the “business leaders of tomorrow” to visit a multinational business solutions company, Apttus, to develop their knowledge of how Computer Science is used to support business.
Year 12 Cyber Security and Computer Science students were introduced by Apttus to the different streams of a cutting edge IT Company, who invited guest speakers to run workshops on networking, customer relationship management, and cloud computing.
Apttus Sales Director, Chris Supple said it was “great to meet the business leaders of tomorrow” after delivering a session explaining how the sales team are supported by their development and project delivery teams to create bespoke software for their clients.
The students then took part in a business requirements workshop where they interviewed different Apttus employees to create a network specification. The students will be using the knowledge gained through these sessions in their upcoming lessons to develop a computer network that would service the needs of Apttus across their worldwide locations.
After the visit to Apttus the students visited the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. They were able to appreciate the history and architecture of these historical London sites.
