Six boys from Years 7 and 8 represented the school in an extremely competitive Handball competition recently.

Captained by Ishmael Rowe, of Year 8, the boys were starting in a strong position. Throughout the tournament they went from strength to strength after losing their first game by 1 point.

Following this close defeat, Ishmael coached the boys through a defensive drill to ensure this was not to be repeated. In true Smestow style we grew in confidence and skill as the tournament progressed. It is through having trust in the team, excellent play and respect of the rules that enabled them to receive the title of ‘City Runners-up’.

It is with great delight that the boys have another fixture pencilled in the diary for the near future.
