Smestow vs. Highfields

The Year 10 rounders team experienced their second wave of success this week. Facing a challenging bowler meant that scoring anything in the first innings was looking remote.

During the intermission the team lifted their heads up and stepped up their game. Captained by a very calm Victoria Joyce, who always finds the right words to encourage her team. It is of no surprise that the girls made a remarkable comeback finishing with a 13 ½ – 8 win. Hemma Daddral was voted in for a second time as player of the match.

Keep up the winning streak girls!

Meanwhile the Year 9’s faced a challenging second game of the season. They were pipped to the post and lost by only a few rounders.

The player of the match went to Tiegan Jones, rightfully deserved. A young lady who is growing in confidence with every game. The captain Kharam Haire received quite an accolade from the Highfields umpire, who said: “I have never witnessed such outstanding leadership from a young rounders player”.

Fantastic feedback ladies. Keep up the outstanding work. Be patient, the win will come!
