There was a lovely Christmas atmosphere in Smestow when 25 people from the local community joined students for a festive lunch.

The Year 10 food technology students prepared and cooked a two-course meal, which was, of course, turkey with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding.

Our guests were entertained by the school choir, who sang some wonderful Christmas carols, before the afternoon was rounded off with a batch of homemade mince pies and Christmas cake.

A wonderful afternoon for both the students and our warmly welcomed members of the local community.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year and we look forward to the next community event in the early Spring.
