Smestow School Sixth Form Dress Code
At Smestow Sixth Form we encourage you to take responsibility for all aspects of your learning and personal development. In order to do this and prepare for your futures successfully, we believe it is important that you dress in a manner that is appropriate for a school or workplace environment.
Form tutors and all school staff can exercise their discretion as to suitability of clothing
Your lanyard is a compulsory part of the dress code and must be worn at all times. Coats or scarfs should not be worn in lessons, assemblies, work areas.
Students who are part of the Smestow Football Academy and/ or AS physical Education and BTEC Sport courses will be able to wear a branded tracksuit and shirt during those lessons only and must change back for independent study time, lesson and registration. Any other combination of sportswear is not acceptable and cannot be worn outside of practical lessons.
*Sport students will need to change into sportswear for their practical lessons. Students should NOT attend lessons, form-time, assemblies or independent study in sportswear.
Decisions on the suitability of clothing will lie with the Sixth Form team. Thank you for supporting us in maintaining high standards in Sixth Form.
Failure to adhere to these sixth form dress codes will result in student sent home to change and further sanctions issued for persistent failure to comply.
